Performance Footage

This showreel shows Sam performing in works by Natalie Horecna 2014, MAP Dance Company 2015 - choreographed by Lila Dance Company, and her own work made in collaboration with Lucy Freeman and performed in 2015.

Time Lapse (MA dissertation)

Sam leads the audience in an intimate promenade performance that explores personal items.

Sam has been developing this work-in-progress performance as a practice-led investigation into objects owned by her family, and has been questioning what we keep and why? Are we what we keep and are these items stand-ins for certain people?

First performed at the University of Chichester, 2016

Generation We

A duet by 2 women using familial items of clothing to evoke memories. With much of the movement and music inspired by their parents and grandparents, Sam and Lucy employ dad-dancing, take a crack at Le Jive and indulge in child-like episodes inspired by memories of dressing up in their Nana's nighties.

First performed at North Devon's Fringe TheatreFest on 25th June, 2015

The New Now

A quartet that explores 3 different female characters; sensual, dependable and fierce.

Choreographed by Natalia Horecna

Performed by Sam Gilroy, Vivian Luk, Armida Piretti and Giacomo Della Marina

First performed at Teatro delle Spiagge, Florence on 12th July, 2014
